ROMIL awarded ISO Guide 34 Accreditation for the Certification of Reference Materials

Romil Ltd (Cambridge, UK) has been awarded ISO Guide 34 Accreditation for the PrimAg® range of Certified Reference Materials (CRM’s). This flexible scope accreditation means that ROMIL Ltd is authorised to certify the entire range of single and multi-element calibration solutions and pure stoichiometric substances.

ISO Guide 34 was introduced to ensure that Reference Material Producers (RMP’s) are competent to manufacture their products to a certain quality fit for purpose. It covers all the elements of the established international standard ISO 17025 plus some additional ones for production, storage, and distribution.

“ Back in 2002 we were the first commercial organisation worldwide to achieve ISO 17025 accreditation for our PrimAg® range of CRM’s,” says Dr Robert Lenk, Founder and Managing Director of ROMIL. He continues “Since then ISO Guide 34 has become the trend in the reference material community, so in order to provide our customers with the most comprehensive range of products possible we have now added this extra accreditation to our portfolio.”

Under ISO 17025, testing laboratories may have to question the stability, homogeneity, transportation and storage of their CRM’s. The important feature of ISO Guide 34 is that this is no longer necessary. As Dr Lenk comments “ISO Guide 34 accreditation provides ultimate ease of administration for CRM users.”
